Art Guild
Among the various private organizations within the 480th Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Surveillance Group, or 480th ISRG, the non-profit community Art Guild stands its place as the central outlet for creative expression and application. As an association, the Art Guild also provides services for the local tenant units in the form of designs, photography, murals, and more, at no cost except for the price of supplies.
The Process
As a member myself, I rose through the ranks and eventually became the head of the small council. Hoping to do best by the community, I sought out permission from the original founders to revitalize the identity of the guild. The resulting logo features two complimentary, but not too dissimilar, sans serif typefaces of varying weights, with the intention to suggest unity amongst styles.
The guild offers a podium for any creative forms in our community, ranging from the fine arts to digital, handcrafts, and more. The tagline of “Airmen and Families” opens up participation to anyone within the local base community, including military spouses and children.
The guild also hosts quarterly Art Shows, with the third quarter shows presenting artists with the opportunity to donate their pieces toward silent auctions that assist in funding the annual Air Force Ball events. At each of these events, a table is set up with a runner featuring the Art Guild logo, along with any accompanying products, pamphlets, forms, or art. Certificates adorned with the logo and congratulatory messages were presented to category winners within the show, along with buttons and ribbons for the winning pieces.
